Second seed Lorenzo Musetti takes on seventh seed Dominic Stephan Stricker in the round-robin stage of the Nex Gen ATP Finals on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old is one of the favorites to win the competition. He entered the tournament on the back of some fine form. He managed to reach the semifinals in three of the five tournaments he played in prior to the Next Gen ATP Finals. Musetti has won two titles this year and is shaping up quite nicely on the tour.
The Italian youngster began his campaign in the Next Gen ATP Finals with a thumping win against Tseng Chun-hsin. Musetti defeated his opponent in just 70 minutes in straight sets 4-2, 4-2, 4-2, much to the delight of the home crowd. The world No. 23 hit 4 aces and an impressive win percentage of 89 on the first serve.
The Swiss youngster has had a promising season having won two ATP Challenger Tour titles and earning impressive victories against the likes of Maxime Cressy, Botic van de Zandschulp, and Aslan Karatsev.
Dominic produced a solid display of grit and determination to get the better of Jack Draper in the first match. He won tiebreaks in all three sets to get the better of the Brit. Dominic won the match 4-3 (7-5), 4-3 (7-5), 4-3 (7-5). The 20-year-old used his serves to good effect. He hit as many as 14 aces and had a win percentage of 86 on the first serve.
The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 0-0 as the two players have not faced each other so far.
