Deshaun Watson is all set to make his debut for the Cleveland Browns in Week 13 against his former team.
Deshaun Watson is all set to make his debut for the Cleveland Browns in Week 13. He has served his 11-game suspension handed out by the league, and will finally play a game in the NFL after over 500 days.
Speaking about the challenge of returning to play after such a long haul, Watson said, “My biggest focus was the mental part, Staying locked in on defensive schemes and staying locked in on the scheme we have here. Just following Jacoby [Brissett], asking him questions, preparing like I was the starter that week.”
The Browns are still in the hunt for the playoffs and if Deshaun Watson gets back to his normal self, this Cleveland team can cause problems for any team on any given night.
In his first-ever game for his new team, Deshaun Watson will face his former team, the team that drafted him, the Houston Texans. He wanted out of Houston due to the incapability of the front office to preserve a championship-level roster, and now he has a chance of showing his worth to them.
It will take some time for Watson to get back to his usual self, and talking about it, he said, “We’ll have to see Sunday honestly. It might take time, but it might not take time. I want to go out there and make plays as much as I possibly can. Two years is a long time, but I’ve been doing this since I was 6 years old.”
The Cleveland Browns are expected to get the win over the Houston Texans but all eyes will be on Watson as the Browns paid a lot to get him to Cleveland.
