Jalen Hurts led the way for the Philadelphia Eagles in their blowout win over the New York Giants in the NFC Divisional Round.
Jalen Hurts’ strong effort as quarterback helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to victory against the New York Giants in the NFC Divisional Round. He gave no indication that he was not healthy and played with the zeal of a guy who was contending for the Most Valuable Player award for this season.
Hurts was able to play with a sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder that he suffered during a game on December 18 against the Chicago Bears. Although the injury caused him to miss two games, he still managed to run for one touchdown and pass for two more while he was playing through the pain.
In the Eagles’ final game of the regular season, which was played against the New York Giants, Hurts played for the team for the first time since suffering an injury. Even though the Eagles did not depend extensively on scheduled rushing plays during Hurts’ game, they were still able to come out on top. Because Philadelphia’s offense was able to go back to being dynamic, the team played dynamically on offense.
Speaking about Hurts after the game, Skip Bayless said, “As I tweeted the moment he was drafted, the Eagles STOLE Jalen Hurts in the 2nd rd. He’s everything Wentz wasn’t. He has changed culture & life for the Eagles. He’s the leader & playmaker they haven’t had. And now he looks pretty healthy and back in the groove. Should be MVP.”
With their victory over the New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles have earned themselves a spot in the National Football Conference Championship Game. This game will be played on January 1st. They will compete against the team that wins between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. The winner of the game will face them in the next round.
