Brock Purdy led the San Francisco 49ers to a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is playing exceptionally well.
Jimmy Garoppolo broke his foot during the game against the Miami Dolphins and is sidelined for the rest of the season. Brock Purdy came in to replace him and has played exceptionally well in the two appearances since.
He played well against the Dolphins and played even better against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Chris Broussard believes he might even bench Jimmy G for Brock Purdy if the former Iowa quarterback continues to play well.
Speaking about it, Chris Broussard said, “I don’t want to say something that’s gonna shock you. This was my point. You didn’t let me finish. If they’re winning. And Brock isn’t playing well, obviously when Jimmy G is ready. You put him in? Yeah. If they’re winning and he’s I’m not saying he’s got to be like, great.”
He added, “No, I’m putting my money where my mouth is while I sit on here every single day Nick tries to mock me. He tries a good job me into saying something I don’t believe I’ve always said Jimmy G is not a pro bowler. Jimmy G is not great. I’m just saying he’s a good quarterback with great intangibles. And he brings W’s that’s it.”
The San Francisco 49ers are up next against the Seattle Seahawks next week, and if Brock Purdy again puts up another great performance, the 49ers could very well win the Super Bowl with him.
