“It’s like having Michael Jordan out there”- Eagles HC Nick Sirriani heaps praise on Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts played extremely well in the win over the New York Giants and received a ton of praise from his head coach.

In the NFC Divisional Round, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants behind Jalen Hurts’ dominant performance as the quarterback. He exhibited no signs of not being healthy and performed with the intensity of a player who was vying for the MVP award for this season.

When asked about the emotional lift that Jalen Hurts brought the club during its 38-7 rout against the New York Giants in the NFC divisional round playoff game on Saturday night, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni compared Hurts to Michael Jordan. The contest was part of the NFC playoffs.

Speaking about Hurts, Sirianni said, “I know this is high praise, but to have him out there is like having — I shouldn’t even go there — it’s like having Michael Jordan out there, He’s your leader. He’s your guy.”

He added, “Hopefully that’s the biggest respect I can pay to him, comparing his ability to being on the field to a Michael Jordan type. This guy leads. He brings this calmness to the entire team. He plays great football. He’s as tough as they come. To me, nobody has played any better football than him this year.”

Hurts was able to play with a sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder that he sustained in a game against the Chicago Bears on December 18. The injury forced him to miss two games, but it didn’t stop him from passing for two touchdowns and running for one more.

Hurts made his return from injury for the Eagles in the last game of the regular season against the New York Giants. The Eagles won despite not relying heavily on planned running plays during Hurts’ game. The offense was able to go back to being dynamic, and as a result, Philadelphia’s piled up 268 yards and three touchdowns.

The Philadelphia Eagles have ensured themselves a berth in the National Football Conference Championship Game with their victory over the New York Giants. They will play against whoever emerges victorious from the match between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition to his outstanding play throughout the regular season, Hurts showed in last night’s game that he is capable of contributing in the postseason as well. The Eagles have a strong roster, and despite the fact that their game against either the 49ers or the Cowboys is going to be a challenging one, the Eagles have a good chance of winning regardless of which club they face.

The Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 12-4, but they lost two of their final three games to complete the season. Despite this, they are back on track and ready to play in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

After the win, Jalen Hurts said, “We’re not just hungry for it, we’re starving for growth, getting better and learning from our mistakes. I think that’s a beautiful thing and that was a little motivation as a team. We wanted to come out and play our best ball.”

Jalen Hurts would have had a far better chance of winning the Most Valuable Player award if he hadn’t gotten hurt during the regular season. It is a testament to how wonderful he has been performing throughout the season, and he will want to lead his side all the way to the championship.
