Lamar Jackson is about to receive his new deal, and Kyler Murray’s contract with the Cardinals will allow him to get a big contract.
Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have finally reached an agreement, and Murray will serve as the team’s starting quarterback for a number of years to come. After a turbulent summer, the Cardinals put their faith in Murray by making him a sizable offer.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN: Cardinals are giving QB Kyler Murray a five-year extension that ties him to Arizona for six more years, per source. Cardinals are giving Kyler Murray a five-year, $230.5 million deal that includes $160 million guaranteed, per source. It gives Murray the second highest paid QB average at $46.1 million per year.
After seeing Deshaun Watson and Kyler Murray get such lucrative deals, the question now arises as to how much Lamar Jackson will get from the Baltimore Ravens.
Lamar is a former MVP and is arguably a better quarterback than Kyler Murray, which is why his market value has certainly increased after seeing the deal for Murray. The NFL community on Twitter believes that Lamar Jackson would have been very happy after seeing what Murray got from the Cardinals. NFL parlays this week all point to Jackson getting a bumper deal as well.
The new NFL season is almost upon us. All the players have started participating in the training camps ahead of the new season, and Lamar is also attending the Ravens camp.
It is presumed that a deal for him might be very near. The situation of Kyler Murray will certainly accelerate the negotiations between Lamar and the Ravens, and we could see him getting the bag pretty quickly.
The Baltimore Ravens will be determined to have a good season this time around, as last season their campaign was halted by the injuries suffered by many of their players.
