This coming Sunday is going to do be a special occasion for Philadelphia Eagles’ latest offensive recruit – AJ Brown. No! It’s not his birthday, but the very first time he would be returning to Tennessee since his shocking trade which even was hard digest for him.
Being the same player who was drafted by the Titans in the second round in 2019, Brown is surely hyped up to stamp his authority on the ground where he has achieved so much. Acknowledging that he expects a mixed reaction from the fans on Sunday, AJ Brown revealed his true thoughts to Josh Tolentino.
Moreover, Brown emphasized why he is the ‘true winner’ of the trade that brought him to Philadelphia Eagles, a team which will feature in the playoffs and are looking like serious Super Bowl contenders.
Brown said, “I’m thankful for Tennessee, but I’m here in Philly now. … I’m pretty sure there’s some (Tennessee Titans fans) that still love me, and I’m pretty sure there’s some people that hate my guts. I feel like regardless of how the trade went down, me personally, I feel like I’ve won. I changed my family’s life forever. That’s the goal.”
After failing to come to terms with a contract extension with the Titans, Brown found a seat with the Eagles. Shortly after the trade, the wide receiver signed a four-year, $100 million dollar deal with his new team. That kind of money will surely set his family for life, hence this reaction from AJ Brown.
How will the charismatic WR perform against his former team, in front of the fans who truly admired him? Remains to be seen.
