“I feel like my experience will bring a lot”- Andy Dalton speaks up after joining the Saints

Andy Dalton recently signed a 1-year deal with the New Orleans Saints where he will play as the backup to Jameis Winston.

Andy Dalton throughout his career in the NFL has served as a backup quarterback at many teams and he has fulfilled that role to perfection as he guides the young quarterbacks in their early years in the league.

Last season he played for the Chicago Bears where he was touted to be their starting quarterback but later Justin Fields replaced him and became the starter for the team in his rookie year.

It was clear that Justin Fields was the man to lead the Bears which is why an exit seemed inevitable for Andy Dalton and he joined the New Orleans Saints for a 1-year contract where he will be the backup to their franchise quarterback Jameis Winston.

Talking after joining the Saints and getting the opportunity to share the QB room with Jameis Winston, Dalton said, “This is his thing, and I’m here to help him out in any way that I can, So, I’m excited to work with him, excited to be in the same room, and see everything I can do to help him out to make him the best player he can be.”

Andy Dalton further talked about his experience in the NFL so far while playing as a backup quarterback and he said, “I think for me, obviously I’ve played my whole career, and even a couple of years ago when I was in Dallas, with the unfortunate injury that Dak had, I was able to come in.”

He added,  “And then going into last year, was the starter until I got hurt, and then Justin took over. But how it’s been, and where I’m at, I’m here to help and serve and do everything I can just to help the team and to help the quarterback room, and to make us the best offense that we can be, so whatever role that is, I’m here for it.”

Andy Dalton is ready to help the Saints and Winston in whatever way he can as he brings a lot of experience to that locker room which will benefit the team.
