NFL fans on social media were ecstatic after it was confirmed that Giovani Bernard was returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year contract.

Earlier on Saturday, reports confirmed that Giovani Bernard rejoined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year contract. The former Cincinnati Bengals running back will be looking to form a formidable partnership with Tom Brady for the second year running.

It is believed that Bernard, who was in the NFL free agency, had several suitors monitoring his situation. But the 30-year-old wanted to reunite with Tom Brady in a bid to win his first Super Bowl.

Bernard spent eight seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before joining the Bucs in 2021. In his debut season with the NFC South division side, Bernard played only 12 games but caught 23 passes for 123 yards and three TDs. He added just eight carries for 58 yards.

While Bernard may not be able to carry the Bucs forward all by himself, he will have seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady as a supplier. Last month, Brady announced that he would return to the NFL after retiring earlier in the year.

Nevertheless, NFL fans on social media were stoked about Bernard returning to Tampa Bay. On Twitter, one wrote, “Great to see Tom Brady will have a strong, quick and agile sidecar on the field” while another added, “Bernard can really be a great outlet for Brady. Good that he returned to Tampa Bay.” A third commented, “Giovani Bernard may be the perfect addition for Brady to push the Bucs to another Super Bowl.”
