Famous Sports Analyst Colin Cowherd believes Jimmy Garoppolo would be a great fit on this team and will make them better.
The exit of Jimmy Garoppolo from the San Francisco 49ers is inevitable. It’s just a matter of time, and when a potential suitor arrives, he’ll get traded.
Recently, famous sports analyst Colin Cowherd pitched an idea of Jimmy G being on one famous franchise where he could fit well, and certainly improve the team.
Colin Cowherd believes that Jimmy Garoppolo would be a good fit for the New York Giants. Cowherd claimed that Jimmy G would be a massive upgrade on Daniel Jones, and will take this team to the next level.
Daniel Jones through the course of his career so far hasn’t proved that he deserves a starting quarterback position in the NFL. On the other hand, despite his flaws, Garoppolo is a winning quarterback who always founds a way to succeed no matter what.
Colin Cowherd breaks down why Jimmy Garoppolo would be better for the Giants instead of Daniel Jones
Colin Cowherd has never shied away from making strong statements. This time also he gave a whole breakdown on why Garoppolo will be a better fit on the New York Giants than Daniel Jones.
Colin Cowherd said, “Is Daniel Jones a franchise quarterback? Maybe, maybe he has a second act after New York like a Ryan Tannehill and succeeds, but what Daniel Jones isn’t is ‘special’, and what he isn’t is good enough to elevate this very mediocre roster. He’s an incredibly ordinary quarterback, there is no real ‘it’ here, and there is no ‘special’. The Giants are a bad franchise. They’ve been rebuilding since Eli left and they’re still not good. “
He added, “When Daniel Jones came out all I heard was ‘can’. He ‘can’ be coached, he went to Duke, he ‘can’ learn, he is big enough, there is a lot of Eli… but there is no special to it. Zach Wilson struggled last year but I see special. Trevor Lawrence struggled last year but I see special. Trey Lance only had two starts, you can see special. You know what Daniel Jones looks like? A guy that played football at… DUKE. “
Cowherd further said, “It’s Division-I, but it’s like — get good grades, not recruited at all by a top 15 programs, not a shot at Duke but… Do you ever talk about Duke in January in college football? If you’re not going to convince me that Jimmy Garoppolo would not make a difference for this losing franchise you’re out of your mind.”
New York Giants could be a decent team if they get Jimmy G
The Giants have a pretty good roster. All they need is a decent quarterback if they want to compete this year. Their division is tough, and with how things currently stand, they have the worst quarterback in their division.
That doesn’t allow you to contend in the season. On the other hand, if you get Jimmy G, you are giving yourself an opportunity to compete. Even if Jimmy G isn’t the best of quarterbacks, he knows how to win games.
The main thing that the Giants need is wins. This could be another tough year for the franchise if they don’t make a strong decision to replace Daniel Jones, with Jimmy Garoppolo.
