Tom Brady was simply brilliant against the New Orleans Saints in the latter stages as he secured a terrific comeback win. However, his next challenge is against a San Francisco 49ers’ side who have been emphatically short-handed – both their initial QB choices (Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo) have been ruled out of the entire season at different intervals.
The San Francisco 49ers are 8-4, will play host to Tampa Bay Bucs, who are 6-6 after the end of Week 13. This matchup seems to be pretty exciting for many as a young QB – Brock Purdy will lead his team against arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history – Tom Brady.
This will be Purdy’s first ever start in the league, and who better than Brady. On the same note, sports media personality – Stephen A. Smith listed out how the 7xSuper Bowl Champ will need to fundamentally correct his mistakes if he wants to secure a win and move beyond .500.
Stephen A. Smith on Tom Brady ahead of Week 14 matchup
Smith said on the latest episode of First Take, “This didn’t, you know, Purdy ain’t the one that Tom Brady has to go up against. He got to go up against them boys on the defensive side, led by Bosa. And the crew, that’s what he got to go up against. He’s got to go up against them with a compromised offensive line. All right, he’s got to go up against them. With a less than stellar running game.
“He’s got to go up against them with receivers, he doesn’t seem to be on the same page with on far too many occasions this season, whether it’s Evans, it’s Godwin or anybody else. The San Francisco 49 as defense is no joke.”
Summarizing things up Smith added that Niners might not come out to hunt Brady like the Cowboys typically do. But Brady’s next opponent are a well-equipped defensive team. So, if he doesn’t rectify his errors, he could once again suffer via a tough loss.
