Dak Prescott seems to be the latest personnel from the sports world to join the Jerry Jones’ 1957 viral photo bandwagon. After 4Xnba Champ, LeBron James asked the media on why they haven’t questioned Jerry about the infamous picture. The 37-year-old also drew comparison on what the situation could’ve been if this would’ve happened with the likes of Kyrie Irving.
So, now when the comments were out. It was obvious that Dak Prescott will be brought into this mix, to know about his true opinion on the same matter. Rather than coming out strong, the #1 QB of the Cowboys exhibited his willingness to be gracious and understanding, as per Dallas Morning News writer David Moore.
“Obviously, we can be more empathetic and give grace to one another,” Prescott said. “Regardless of race, from the times we’ve come from to where we are now, thinking about the growth we’ve had … That’s how I think.”
Dak Prescott added, “I think whether LeBron is talking about the picture, I think that’s on Jerry to address, right? And since it was 65 years ago… I give grace. I think that’s a conversation and a question not only for him, but for you guys [media] and how you feel how accountable you’ve been in covering and discussing the disparities and differences in race.”
To those who are not aware what picture we are talking about here, a photo that surfaced showed the Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones standing behind white kids blocking six African American children from entering a school they were enrolled in at Arkansas’ North Little Rock High School.
Jerry Jones has often downplayed the importance of that image, with plenty supporting him. Safe to say, Prescott appears to be one of them.
