Jerry Jones, the owner of the most valued team in sporting history, is a man who can cause a stir in the blink of an eye. From making his next move evident, to stirring controversies, to lashing out on the Cowboys players publicly, one never knows what to expect from this veteran. However, his latest suggestion could make him the new ‘hero’ in the owner’s group.
For those who are not aware about the suggestion made – Jerry Jones indicated, as much in his recent appearances on the 105.3 The Fan, that he has always been a proponent of an 18-game season. Moreover, to give the teams some chance to battle it out even further in the group stage, there should be a 20-game schedule kept for each and every team.
However, that wasn’t it, Jones even indicated that the preparation of two preseason games is more than enough for every team’s player to get into rhythm and shape.
“One more I see, and I’m a big proponent of it. I think that’s the right level. That allows us to, as we go into the early games of the season, that allows us to have those games. You will get better if you play those games because you will play fewer preseason games,” Jones shared, via Pro Football Talk.
The good part for all the owners is that more games, means more tickets and fans in the stadium. Moreover, the matches will be televised more and there would also be more marketing done upon it.
“You know at one time they played six preseason games in the NFL for your history buffs. But still I like to play two or three preseason games and 18 regular season games and have been a proponent of that.”
