Dalvin Cook could surely not contain his excitement when the Minnesota Vikings inched past the Miami Dolphins last week. According to Ian Rapoport – for the oddly specifying celebration he seems to be penalized with a $7,426 fine. So, what did he do? How did he celebrate?
After registering the game-winning TouchDown, Dalvin Cook threw the football in the stands. The celebration seemed justified as Dalvin Cook had no ordinary TouchDown – it was a 530 yard score which saw his team inch past the Dolphins last time around. Interestingly the spoken off player has rushed for 450 yards in a total of 6 games in the 2022-23 regular season. In the process he has had 4 TouchDowns as well.
Dalvin Cooker and Justin Jefferson led Minnesota Vikings might not be deemed as the ‘favorites’ to win the Super Bowl. But they have made huge progress under the radar this season. To those who are unaware – the Minnesota Vikings are currently 5-1. Having contested against the top teams, they have just fallen short once.
Given that not many had such high expectations from Minnesota Vikings, their performance could well come as the underdogs. On one hand where Kirk Cousins has been inconsistent this season, the likes of Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson have been quite impressive, leading the team from the front.
That being said, the spoken off team’s defense has played a pivotal role in their success. The Minnesota Vikings’ defensive unit is ranked 11th in points against per game so far. Moreover, they will look to stay hot against the Arizona Cardinals at home next time out. Dalvin Cook and the offense may be in store for a field day against a Cardinals’ defense that ranks 25th in points surrendered per game. Will this team be able to work upon their upward trajectory? Or will there be a roadblock in Week 7 waiting for them? Remains to be seen.
