Patriots center David Andrews complimented his quarterback’s work ethic in the offseason. He believes that Mac Jones is heading in the right direction and that it will eventually help the team as a whole.
David Andrews said, “The kid’s a hard worker. He works his butt off, day in and day out. Sometimes I try to get him to take a deep breath, but that’s what you want out of your quarterback. He works really hard. He’s a tough kid. It’s been fun, for the past year, for me to get to know him and got a lot of respect for how he does things and how he carries himself.”
David Andrews has high expectations for the Patriots and Mac Jones next season
The New England Patriots reached the playoffs last season. They were absolutely destroyed by the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wildcard Game. The Patriots will hope to overcome that and be better this season.
Talking about heading into the next season, David Andrews said, “We’re all working to be the best we can be. Whether that’s Mac, me, we’re all professional athletes. Whoever it is on the football team, we know we have a job to do, and we’re going to do that to the best of our abilities to be the best we can be.
He added, “We’re all here for the same common goal. It’ll all start whenever we report. That’ll be day one. We’ll keep working on it, keep improving it, try to keep getting better throughout season and not have that kind of lull like we did last season.”
The Patriots improved their roster in the offseason and will aim to reach the playoffs again and do better than last season. However, that won’t be an easy task considering the competition around them.
Can the New England Patriots perform better than they did in the last season?
As stated above, last season the New England Patriots surprised many people as they were able to reach the playoffs. However, on their way to the playoffs, they didn’t show that they could take down good teams.
That’s exactly what happened, as the Buffalo Bills took them apart in the playoffs. This was a great learning curve for a young quarterback like Mac Jones, who was in his first year in the NFL. He is ready to go ahead and take his team further in the next season. However, their division has gotten a lot tougher than it was last season.
The Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl, and they are almost certain to win their division. On the other hand, the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets have also bolstered their squads. As a result, the Patriots could fall to third place in the division, and they will almost certainly miss the playoffs.
However, you cannot count out the team coached by Bill Belichick. From what we saw last year, Belichick can find any way to win an agem, which is why the Patriots will be in the mix for the playoffs throughout the season.
