While Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers has finally ended the regular season jinx over New Orleans Saints yet there are not two-ways in praising Head Coach Dennis Allen for frustrating the 7xSuper Bowl Champ – as much as he was on Sunday, on the field with the pressure bundled upon his shoulders by the opposition players.
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Bucs got their revenge. With just 10:48 remaining on the clock, Tom Brady was evidently seen on the side-line, watching replays on the tab and getting mightily frustrated. Like many would suggest, the credit does go to Dennis Allen – who surely seems to know a certain gameplan to stop brady from doing his magic and the same was also acknowledged by sports media personality – Skip Bayless.
Skip Bayless tweeted, “Dennis Allen’s defense has now shut out the GOAT – the player voted by players the BEST PLAYER IN THE NFL – for 6 straight quarters. All-time achievement. Brady’s Kryptonite.”
Through nearly three quarter, the New Orleans Saints held Tom Brady to 14-for-24 passing with only 142 yards. Moreover, he hadn’t been sacked till that point. But Marcus Davenport had a QB hit on him. However, Brady would come through with a TouchDown pass to Breshad Perriman later in the game.
It seemed the Tom Brady, Bucs’ offensive voids had continued against the Saints, until kicker Ryan Succop connected on a 47-yard field goal to tie the score at three in the fourth quarter. Moreover, Tampa Bay didn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter – just when Tom Brady found wide receiver Perriman on a 28-yard TD pass. The Buccaneers would win eventually win the game 20-10, to break their 0-4 skid against the same rivals.
That being said, it wasn’t the best performance one would have seen from Tamp Bay, Tom Brady yet they managed to keep their winning tally alive. Furthermore, this win helps them solidify their position in the NFC South as well.
