The Las Vegas Raiders have recently signed quarterback Derek Carr to a long-term contract. Carr accepted a three-year deal worth $121 million over the course of three years. Most importantly, this was a massive deal for the franchise, as they could keep a hold of their franchise quarterback.

Derek Carr has continuously shown the franchise that he is the right man to lead this franchise throughout his career. Notably, he led this franchise to the playoffs the last season, despite not having enough weapons to support him.

In the last season, the Raiders lost one of their best receivers, Henry Ruggs, due to a car accident, which led to his release from the team. However, this won’t be the case for the franchise, as the Raiders have acquired Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers to help Derek Carr.

Carr, throughout his career, has been heavily criticized for his failure in leading the team during the postseason. Especially, because he has only taken this Raiders team to the playoffs just twice in his 8-year-long career so far.

He responded to his criticism and said, “The question of, ‘Can I win a playoff game?’ Yeah, that’s ridiculous,”.

The Las Vegas Raiders have made significant moves around their roster in the off-season to help Carr. Notably, the addition of his long-time best friend Davante Adams, who is one of the best receivers in the league.

The chemistry between Carr and Adams is already there from their college days. Therefore, it will serve as a massive advantage for the Raiders. The team is under a new head coach, Josh McDaniels, who previously was the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots.

Carr further talked about himself & his team and said, “I know what I’m capable of, I know what our team’s capable of, and I’m excited to see,” he added, “Obviously, we have to earn that (playoff) spot.”
