It is always an emotional moment when you stand alongside your idol. Such has been the case for New York Jets’ Quarterback as he would lock horns against the reigning MVP – Aaron Rodgers as his team locks horns against the Green Bay Packers at the Lambeau Field this week.
Zach Wilson, who is entering his second season in the NFL has always looked up to Aaron Rodgers, as per his father. Especially after the former was side-lined for numerous weeks courtesy to suffering an injury in the preseason games, Zach Wilson’s father got 100% honest on his son’s surreal vibes whilst facing Aaron Rodgers, in several days.
Mike Williams wrote on Twitter, “Dreams do come true! I can’t tell you how many times Zach Wilson and I have watched Rogers on tv or studied his every movement on YouTube. Today he gets a chance to play against him. Parents if your child has a dream, embrace it. Sometimes dreams do come true.”
Can Aaron Rodgers inspire his Packers to another win vs Jets in Week 6?
Aaron Rodgers is in his 18th season in the league and has already touched heights and broken plenty of records. This is surely something which encourages Wilson to become like Rodgers. Ahead of their Week 6 showdown, both these spoken off teams are sitting on an identical record of 3-2.
With Zach looking to have a better year than his rookie season in 2022-23, he would surely face tougher challenges, starting against Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers – if he was to lead his team to the playoffs this year.
On one hand where Wilson has tons better than Rodgers in his rookie year, the latter has only gone onto add to his talent and legendary as the years have gone by. Zach threw for 2,334 yards in his rookie season. Whereas Aaron Rodgers threw for just 65 yards. Interestingly, he only got the starting job for the Gree Bay Packers in 2008, which was three years after he made his debut.
