When Richard Sherman joined hands with Thursday Night Football broadcasting crew, fans never expected him to reach a point where we would be trolling his former teammate, Russell Wilson. However, the former reached his boiling point after the veteran Quarterback’s lackluster effort handed his team a consecutive loss.
With no TouchDowns made in the game by Russell Wilson, new head coach Nathaniel Hackett decided to win it all via a fourth-and-1 from the 5-yard line. However, Wilson never seemed confident to pull off a win, resulting in Richard Sherman experiencing ‘deja vu’ scenarios. He even made it aware to millions of football fans all across the globe.
To those who are not aware, Denver Broncos ran the same route concept to Wilson’s right side that the Seahawks ran at the end of Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots. Except this time, Malcolm Butler was nowhere to be found, and the unintentional pick actually opened up the slant. A walk-in TouchDown was there for K.J. Hamler. However, the problem being – Wilson never saw him making that effort.
“On the final play … you gotta run the ball,” Sherman said on the postgame show. “Again, like, I mean, I wish I had Marshawn [Lynch] over here. Like, one yard. You need one yard. Run the ball. What — run the ball! All he has to do, is run the football. Necessary criticism. I’m not — you know, I’ve said enough criticism for him. But God dang it, run the dang ball! Like just learn from your mistakes.”
While Richard Sherman’s choice of words were limited yet they were a huge troll on his former teammate. The Broncos have paid a huge chunk of their draft capital to acquire the former Super Bowl champion – Quarterback. However, Wilson’s performances haven’t even been close to the expectation of his new fanbase in any game so far in the 2022-23 season.
Although Russell did take full accountability for this loss on Thursday vs Colts. But will he be able to redeem himself in the successive week? Remains to be seen.
