Things have never looked to be settling with Zach Wilson ever since he has made his debut in the 2022-23 season for the New York Jets. Having led his team in numerous games, it seems like the franchise has had enough, making sure that they bench him for the next showdown against the Chicago Bears, and probably against the Minnesota Vikings as well.
If the Jets, who are at this point 6-4, are to have playoff aspirations, then they might as well keep the #2 pick in the draft benched for quite some time now. Even when coach Robert Saleh was having a word with the media upon Zach Wilson’s situation, he chose his words very carefully.
“The intent – the full intent – is to make sure that Zach gets back on the football field at some point this year,” Saleh said. “When that is, I’ll make that decision. I’m going to take it day-to-day. The biggest thing with Zach is the young man needs a reset.”
Dan Orlovsky makes his feelings perfectly clear on Zach Wilson
Having had a zero-TD performance against a side which some QBs have completely rocked, this was a huge blow for the Jets. Especially keeping in mind their playoff scenario. Now replacing Zach Wilson, New York would be having new hopes with Mike White at the helm of things offensively.
Dan Orlovsky stated in the latest episode of Get Up, “I think it’s a very easy situation Zach Wilson doesn’t play again for the Jets until Mike White proves he’s not capable of it.
“It’s very simple – the Jets are undefeated when they have scored 17 points this season, they don’t star Quarterback. Their offense looked better than it has looked ever in 2 years.”
