Joe Burrow led Cincinnati Bengals haven’t looked to be the same unit which paved their way to the Super Bowl, in the current season yet. Having suffered initial losses, even their marquee Quarterback hasn’t been able to showcase his true potential, and to make matters worse this team could land in further trouble.
After Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion woes, the NFL and NFLPA have implemented strict actions to be taken in case of any injury, and the team which made Tua stretch off the field – to the hospital, Cincinnati Bengals could land themselves in trouble. When Joe Burrow appeared on a podcast with Colin Cowherd, he gave his team a good headache, pun intended. Burrow revealed that he played with concussion injuries.
“I have never had any lasting effects from a concussion like I’ve been hit and forgot the rest of the game before, but I’ve never had one where I have headaches for like a week and I have symptoms of concussion after the game. Like I said I’ve had something where I don’t remember the second half or I don’t remember the entire game or I know that I got a little dizzy at one point,” Joe Burrow said on the show.
Has Joe Burrow landed himself and Cincinnati Bengals in trouble?
With the NFL being a highly competitive and physical league, its players are bound to endure major injuries. Moreover, with the action of a particular season stretching over a period of 2-3 months, they are expected to bounce back as early as they can to help their team make a valid bid for the Super Bowl spot. On the same note, Joe Burrow added how players understand the risk their profession entails, and how injuries are part of the game.
That being said, the safety protocols taken by the medical staff and doctors for Tua, only indicate how insensitive and misleading practices are being followed in the league. With the NFLPA already looking to penalize teams and staff members who do not understand the value of their players, will Joe Burrow’s hot take be taken into account? Remains to be seen.
