When Dak Prescott broke his thumb in Dallas Cowboys’ season opener against Tampa Bay Bucs, many expected backup QB – Cooper Rush to only become an eventual scapegoat. But given the opportunity, the latter turned the momentum for the franchise, by making them win 4 consecutive games.
On the same note when Dak Prescott was recently asked upon his views on his team and in particular Cooper Rush. His candid take did not sit well with many, including sports media veteran personality – Skip Bayless. The 70-year-old analyst feels Prescott is indeed threatened of his own position by Rush.
Skip Bayless quoted on the latest episode on Undisputed, “Dak Prescott took a shot at Cooper Rush – unwarranted, though predictable. I think he’s saying, ‘When I get back, we’re gonna take it up a bunch.’ I believe that Prescott gas become extremely threatened by Cooper Rush because Cooper didn’t just keep his seat warm, he turned it into a hot sear for Dak.”
Does Dak Prescott’s return make in-form Cooper Rush sit out of game-action
Cowboys have a tough decision at their disposal – will they choose the underdog who has performed for them week after week. Or will they their $160 Million marquee QB – Dak Prescott?
Skip Bayless added, “He (Dak Prescott) wants everybody to know that he wants him team back. I don’t appreciate the shot at Cooper Rush because…it’s beneath Dak to have to do that. But that’s where he has been pushed by Cooper Rush’s magic run. Nobody in the history of this league had won his first four starts with a 90-plus passer rating, and Cooper did that. Now I think, Dak Prescott is wearing on his sleeve just how threatened he is by Cooper Rush.”
Having given his all, will the in-form Rush be benched when Dak Prescott returns to full strength? Surely, there are many speculations going to be answered in Week 6.
