While Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers have registered three consecutive wins to maintain their 2nd spot in the NFC North, there are a series of problem visible and highlighted in their respective unit. Which has been bothering sports media personality – Nick Wright lately.
Even in the Packers’ latest win, they won courtesy to a well-orchestrated 12-play, 77-yard drive by Aaron Rodgers and co., which kicker Mason Crosby sealed with a 31-yar field goal in overtime. But even this spoken off close victory came when the New England Patriots’ were playing behind third-string QB – Bailey Zappe. Which has left Wright all the more concerned.
Wright pointed how the Packers’ offense needs to be led by the reigning MVP – Aaron Rodgers, and by all means he hasn’t looked at the same level in the 2022-23 season. Especially with a younger, inexperienced attack supporting him, Rodgers’ play hasn’t inspired his teammates.
The Green Bay Packers might have emerged past Bears, Bucs and Patriots in three consecutive games and are looking in decent form, but there is no surprise in stating that the likes of Aaron Rodgers and other veteran members haven’t been at their best. And it is indeed a matter of time before they get exploited for having such loose ends on either ends of the field.
Nick Wright quoted on the latest episode of First Things First, “Aaron Rodgers & the Green Bay Packers offense hasn’t had a single excellent game. The defense & running game can be good complimentary pieces but Rodgers has to be the reason they reach the Super Bowl. He hasn’t looked like that level of player this season.”
Aaron Rodgers needs to bring his A-Game to be table if the Packers are hoping to contest against in-form Giants, Jets in the coming weeks. Will we witness Nick Wright appreciating Rodgers for his performance in the coming matchdays? Or is there going to be a major change in form, for the worse? Remains to be seen.
