With the Buffalo Bills simply dominating the defending champions – LA rams in the season opener, Josh Allen’s MVP odds have sky-rocketed unlike anything ever seen by NFL fans. On the same note, sports media personality – Colin Cowherd could not help but compare Allen to the likes of Mike Tyson and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Just like how Milwaukee Bucks’ marquee Giannis–who is 2xMVP and a former Finals MVP, reckoned as a freak of nature. In the same manner, Josh Allen has been producing some of the best ever seen individual performances to an extent where he has single-handedly inspired his team to victory. And the season opener against the Rams was just the same spectacle.
Colin Cowherd said on The Herd, “He (Josh Allen) is Giannis (Antetokounmpo). He is 1 of 1 on Earth…Mike Tyson in his prime, has the best knockout punch but sometimes forgets to use the jab. Simply a Jaw-Dropping talent. Cam was not this physical or this refine as a thrower. Big Ben… it’s an insult to compare Big Ben to athletic ability, to Josh Allen, it ain’t close. But with that talent, comes confidence.”
Josh Allen began the game against Rams by completing his first 10 passes – which were a career best record for him as well. And even finished with a 112 passer-rating. He also had two interceptions and a staggering tally of four TouchDowns. Pretty much, one could sense that this star performer was everywhere on the field.
Cowherd added, “When somebody is so gifted and so great…the late Kobe Bryant, he would take shots for which the coaches would scream but Kobe swears, he was gonna make all of them. You’re gonna deal with that in Josh Allen. Since he’s been in the National Football League…he is Top 5 in total TouchDowns and Top 5 in giveaways.”
That being said, the road to Super Bowl LVII is a long one, with an enormous number of obstacles coming in the way of every team. But with Josh Allen in prime form, Buffalo Bulls seems to have already started in a red-hot manner, showcasing just why they were considered one of the favorites to win the silverware.
