If there is one Quarterback who has gone onto showcase just how high, he should be valued – it is Lamar Jackson. Interestingly, the last pick in the first round of the 2018 draft denied his $113 million guaranteed extension before the start of the 2022-23 campaign as he thought of him valuing much higher. And now, it is for everyone to see.
Lamar Jackson is putting more than a 100% in every game, to be able to make his case stronger to get the highest possible bag. If Lamar would’ve accepted the above-mentioned contract extension, he would’ve been earning less than Kyle Murray and Russell Wilson, both of whom are struggling to make an impact in the 2022-23 season.
Given that Lamar Jackson’s presence brings tons of confidence for the entire squad, if the Baltimore Ravens are not able to secure his services, this could go down in NFL History as the biggest fumbles of all-time.
Skip Bayless on Lamar Jackson and his contract extension
According to sports media veteran personality – Bayless, Ravens’ QB is trying to hold out without skipping games or practices.
The 70-year-old analyst claims that his source in the locker room has said that Lamar is less engaged during team meetings and seems “withdrawn” from the situation. In simpler terms, he does not seem like the Lamar Jackson of the past.
“Lamar Jackson is so upset over his contract that he’s effectively ‘holding out’ without holding out,” Bayless said. “Lamar is no longer as engaged or responsive during meetings. You might say he is sometimes withdrawn during meetings; that’s not at all like the Lamar Jackson we used to know and love…obviously Lamar Jackson is not the all-in, intensely dedicated, ultra-disciplined Lamar that the Ravens have come to know and trust over his first four seasons.”
