Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a billionaire, who has his own set of ways of running an organization. Be it in front of stakeholders, management, media, or even the players–Jones doesn’t shy away one bit to speak his heart out. However, his style of working doesn’t fit into the ideal principles of Sean Payton.
Sean Payton is a great footballing acumen and has shown that in his 16-year-long stint with the New Orleans Saints. However, calling time off in this very offseason, Payton came to know about his traits in the studio but surely hasn’t ruled out the potential chance to make a comeback into the league.
Recently Sean Payton was asked about his inclination towards coaching – in particular towards Jerry Jones’ Cowboys. To which, he responded by stating – as per Cowboyswire, “The most important element is functional ownership [and] front office … because there’s a handful of teams that aren’t, and those teams, regardless of what takes place, they can win on Sunday, but they have trouble winning long term.”
While right now it is Mike McCarthy who is catering to the needs of the Dallas Cowboys, it looks like Jerry Jones would want a firm hand to lead his team. Given that the former Saints’ personnel wittingly squash every inquiry he is summoned with – regarding Jones and the Cowboys, it seems like they don’t want to be part of any system such as this.
Jerry Jones holds no mercy over his own members and has gone onto publicly bash them as well. With a man who doesn’t think twice before words pour out of his mouth, surely Payton is the completely opposition. He concluded by stating, “The opportunity to win consistently and the willingness to build the correct culture and all those things.”
