Russell Wilson was acquired by the Denver Broncos with the simple idea of being able to compete against the best-sides and hopefully for a Super Bowl berth in the 2022-23 season itself. Given the heights achieved by the veteran QB, it was no surprise to anyone that Broncos’ fanbase was excited and hyped-up with his incoming.
However, the reality has been a complete contradiction of the above mentioned desired and aspirations. Russell Wilson has not failed to lead his team in the current season but has gone onto make this one of the worst ever seasons of his career, and its only been Week 7 of the 2022-23 season. This has led by sports media personality – Stephen A Smith frame a strong opinion on him.
Stephen A Smith quoted on the latest episode of ESPN’s First Take, “When you look at a Russell Wilson, that is an ATROCITY that is taking place in the mile high city. You’ve got a 2-4 record, you’re completing 58% of your passes, you’ve got Jerry Jeudy, you’ve got Courtland Sutton, you’ve got Javonte Williams before he fell, and possibly you were the reason he got hurt … There ain’t no question he’s looked worse than almost anybody in the NFL this year.”
How Can Russell Wilson improve his tenure in Denver?
It is safe to urge that despite having heaps on talent on either ends of the field, Denver Broncos has relied more upon their kicker’s leg and their Quarterback’s arm, so far in the 2022-23 season.
In the process Russell Wilson, who is currently dealing with partially torn hamstring, has lost his confidence and continues to do so in every successive game. Given that the Denver Broncos has put plenty of their money, trust in his abilities, Wilson needs to step up sooner rather than later, that too with full venom.
Will he be able to make his worst season, as his greatest ever comeback? Remains to be seen.
