When Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes lost to a depleted Indianapolis Colts side in Week 3, many could not help but place the majority of blame upon the ugly spat on the side-line between Chiefs’ star QB and the offensive coordinator.

Given that Mahomes has been one of the best players in the first couple of weeks of 2022-23 Season, this indeed was a shocking result. Even more so, when one looks upon how they opened their latest campaign against the Arizona Cardinals.

It wasn’t just the fans, but it seemed like the other Chiefs players were also bothered by Patrick Mahomes’ spat with Eric Bieniemy. So, when the reports wanted a clarification upon the same, Mahomes was quick to state, “Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, I wanted to go try and score – that’s just who I am. I just pretty said, ‘Let me have a chance (to Bieniemy).’ He was just like – let’s get back in the locker room and we’ll get something going for the next half.”

While Mahomes clearly made everyone aware that there was nothing serious between his spat with Eric, yet it became a talking about after the Colts pressurized him in making a mistake at the most clutch point of the game. Moreover, Head Coach Andy Reid also stated that the atmosphere in and around the team was just fine and was just a desperate Mahomes trying to convert the game.

Reid stated, “He’s a competitive kid. He wants to take advantage of every opportunity I thought was best just with a ride there. But really if you heard the words that were said that wasn’t. I don’t know how it looks to you guys, but it wasn’t a confrontation at all.”
