On Tuesday morning, the world of football was shocked as Mike Leach, the legendary college football coach whose pioneering Air Raid offenses lit up scoreboards and unconventional demeanor plenty of admirers all around the sport of football, passed away at the age of 61.

The Mississippi State Head Coach was hospitalized in critical condition after experiencing a personal health issue at his own house in Starkville. After being initially treated at the county hospital near his house, Leach was airlifted about 125 miles to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, as per Associated Press.

In his career of 21 years at Texas Tech, Mississippi State and Washington State, this 2xNational Coach of the Year embarked his persona as an attention for detail personnel, who is known to bring the best out of each of his team. Moreover, as per Gh Gossip, on the same day in the evening, reporter Ross Delenger disclosed that Mike Leach was in critical condition stating that. Furthermore, the 61-year-old had a massive heart attack and didn’t receive medical attention for 10-15 minutes.

How many kids did legendary coach Mike Leach have?

Mike Leach had 4 children – Cody Leach, Kiersten Leach, Kim Leach and Janeen Leach. None of them was often spotted in the public’s eye and are reported to be leading a pleasant and happy life with no major glamorous around them. Perhaps just the reason why much is not known about them at this point.

For those who are not aware about the college career of Mike Leach himself – he played rugby for the Brigham Young University Men’s Rugby Team for 4 years till1983. As a coach, he served for Cal Poly, College of the Desert, Pori Bears, Iowa Wesleyan, Valdosta State, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Washington State.

That being said, as hard as it is the time for the entire Leach Family, hopefully Mike’s legacy can be amongst the top known coaches to have ever stepped on the football field.
