After a humiliating loss against the New England Patriots 26-3, Indianapolis Colts decided to fire their Head coach Frank Reich. After firing him, former Colts offensive lineman Jeff Saturday will transition from ESPN analyst to interim HC.
The Indianapolis Colts were deemed to one of the Super Bowl favorites before the start of the 2022-23 season. However, after their poor string of performances in the first 9 weeks of the season they have only 1.1% chance (5th from the lower end), as per FPI. Especially after what Reich had done with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, making them win the Super Bowl title, expectations were always high from Reich.
That being said, his offense had been a complete disaster this season, ranking 27th overall. Perhaps justifying the reason why Colts decided to fire him in the first place. On the same note, let’s take a look at Frank Reich’s year by year coaching stint in the league.
Frank Reich’s coaching history in NFL

Frank Reich’s unit had last season’s rushing champion in Jonathan Taylor. He has been banged up and ranks 21st with 462 yards and just one TouchDown.
Lastly, now with Frank Reich out, the Indianapolis Colts are 3-5 after their first eight games of the season. Given that they have a legitimate chance of winning the AFC South, being couple of wins behind Tennessee Titans, let’s see how the team performs after enduring such a significant change.
