Has Kansas City Chiefs just blown away the NFL circuit after their thumping win against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1? Definitely YES! From Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce – all Chiefs marquee showcased just why they impose such a strong threat even without the charismatic Tyreek Hill.
Cincinnati Bengals causing the upset over Kansas City Chiefs last time around in the AFC Championship game, gave birth to many questioned being asked in and around Patrick Mahomes led offense. Yet it didn’t take Chiefs long to stamp their authority and make everyone feel their presence.
On the same note, Dan Orlovsky stated, “Here’s my thing – I did not expect to see this, to not see them miss a beat without Tyreek Hill. I completely expected this. I have said all offseason that this offense will be more difficult to prepare for because of the diversity of the people, Hall of Famer coach, Hall of Fame Quarterback, one of the best offensive linesmen in football, will say this – this is the best I’ve seen Patrick Mahomes look in the pocket.”
While the departure of Tyreek Hill was one of the most spoken off points. One needs to know that the Kansas City Chiefs did make some solid offseason moves to give more depth on their passing front. Having already got world class players in Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo, they drafted the likes of – Sky Moore, and signed Juju Smith Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantiling.
Orlovsky added, “Now (After wideout #1 Tyreek Hill’s departure) you get to see the freedom of the talent. When he’s protected and he’s got confidence in that group, he’s the best QB in football.”
With Tyreek Hill gone, there is surely a void to fill but it is not impossible. Given that Mahomes is also one of the premier dual-threat QB’s in the league and he’s never failed to showcase his elusiveness and maneuverability in crunch time, it will be interesting to witness how Kansas City Chiefs line their offense against star-studded teams in the coming weeks.
