The young and energetic Jalen Hurts carried the Philadelphia Eagles on his back, on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings at the Lincoln Financial Field. He rushed for two TouchDowns and threw for another. The 24-year-old threw for 333 yards on 26-for-31 completions and rushed for 57 yards on 11 carries.
While the only blemish on his victorious night came in the form of an interception, yet it could not make Stephen A Smith speak any ill of Jalen Hurts. Interestingly, this was the third game of Hurts’ career with 300 passing yards and 50 rushing yards.
Sports media veteran – Smith added, “We all know he (Jalen Hurts) can make plays with his legs. He’s standing in the pocket and I’m watching the ball come out of his with crisper, clearly, he was working on his game in the off season. So, when I look at from that perspective and considering that he is so young, that development… that is what pleases me.”
Jalen Hurts is only one of the four Quarterbacks in the league’s history to have registered the above-mentioned record. Furthermore, his 26-yard TD was the longest ever by any Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback since Donovan McNabb’s 40-yarder in 2022.
Stephen A Smith quoted, “Considering Jalen Hurts’ youth and athleticism, the fact that he’s accustomed to play big-time football and in big time environments…clearly, he’s working on his game and throwing the football better…you look at NFC…I’m high on Jalen Hurts right now. I love what I’m seeing from that brother.”
That being said, Jalen hurts has been the team’s best player in both of the games in the 2022-23 NFL Season. Given that he has an aging Tom Brady in the same divisional as well, could this be the year when modern-day NFL fans finally witness someone young filling into the legendary QB’s shoes? Surely Hurts has got onto the right start.
