Home » Sports News » “I plan for this to be the golden year”: Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has high aspirations for the team in the upcoming season

Having turned 29-years-old on June 29, Dak Prescott seems to be more than ready to make the ultimate leap with Dallas Cowboys in the 2022-23 season. Having led the team’s offense season after season, the jersey numbered 4 QB is itching to answer all his critics as the new season commences from this Sunday.

Dak Prescott

It seems strange that even with the elite caliber such as of – Dak Prescott at their disposal, Jerry Jones’ team has not been able to stamp their authority in the business end. Moreover, to justify this claim – the Dallas Cowboys have won only one of the four playoff games they have qualified for (with Prescott leading the charge). What’s even more bizarre, the Cowboys are one of the only two teams to have playoff record below .250 over the last 25 seasons, the other being Detroit Lions.

Acknowledging all the facts Dak Prescott was in no mood to bow down as the wittingly hyped his team’s morale before the beginning of the tedious 2022-23 season. He said as quoted by ESPN, “It will be the golden birthday. I plan for this to be the golden year.”

Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy feels Dak Prescott has Super Bowl traits

Dallas Cowboys Head Coach, Mike McCarthy has surely tasted success of the highest order and in the process even worked with some of the most prestigious Quarterbacks – Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Having gathered the relative experience and knowledge, he was quick to spot the talent of Dak Prescott as well and went onto emphasize upon the Super Bowl traits that his 29-year-old asset possesses.

McCarthy said, “This is Dak Prescott’s offense and I think you see him taking ownership of that because at the end of the day, defense wins championships, but the Super Bowl is won by the quarterback. If you look at it statistically, that’s my opinion.”

That being said, Dalas Cowboys are one of the serious teams to look for in the 2022-23 season, with Prescott obviously leading the charge. For a team that has achieved the ultimate glory with legends like Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman, Prescott urged how he always dreams about winning the monumental silverware sooner rather than later. And to much surprise, this is a well-known fact to McCarthy, who seems to be impressed by Dak’s work rate and willingness to improve on a daily basis.
