Although the Buffalo Bills were by in large one of the leading favorites to win Super Bowl LVII, it seems their deficiency to run the game has finally been spotted. This has resulted in Hall of Famer tight end – Shannon Sharpe suggesting that the former team should throw the kitchen sink at acquiring Saquon Barkley.
With the Baltimore Ravens locking horns against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, Lamar Jackson might’ve been stopped but the Ravens’ attack killed the Bills off. To justify this claim – the Ravens had 71 rushing yards and a rushing Touchdown from J.K.Dobbins. On the contrary the Buffalo Bills had only 34 rushing yards, out of which 17 yards were from Josh Allen and 17 combined by Zach Moss and Devin Singletary.
Shannon Sharpe’s idea might seem like a decent one now as the Bills need to fix this issue if they are contest for a championship, especially in the 2022-23 season. Sharpe suggested a simple yet drastic idea to trade for New York Giants’ centerpiece Saquon Barkley.
Saquon Barkley – the league’s No.2 rushing leader in this season has been phenomenal throughout the course of 2022-23 season and even before. There are no doubts that the Buffalo Bills will have to sacrifice a whole lot to acquire a centerpiece. However, it is safe to urge that if the Bills want to sell their future for a chance at a ring either this season or the next – having someone like Saquon Barkley could be huge.
One should look at the Los Angeles Rams and how they won the Super Bowl last season, having chased some of the biggest names in the league – they managed to arrange all the pieces together to win the silverware. This is a similar approach which could be used by Bills as well.
That being said, there are no doubts that wherever Saquon Barkley goes – he is going to be an offensive juggernaut.
