The prayers of New York Jets’ fans have finally been answered as marque Quarterback – Zach Wilson will be making him season debut this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers as the same news has been confirmed by the team.
Having suffered their second loss of the 2022-23 season in brutal fashion via the hands of Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3, Jets are currently ranked 3rd in AFC East and very well are aware that they need their marquee Zach Wilson to step up, if they have hopes of making it deep into the postseason.
Zach Wilson tore a meniscus and suffered a bone bruise on a noncontact play in the first preseason game. Afterward, coach Robert Saleh chided the second-year-QB for not running out of bounds. In mid-August, he underwent surgery on the same knee. Expected to be ruled out for another couple of weeks, Wilson has worked hard to come in earlier, only to help his fight against the star-studded teams.
Being 1-2 without Zach Wilson, Jets still have the time to challenge for the divisional title. Moreover, with Joe Flacco leading the team to a stunning comeback against the Cleveland Brown in Week 2, he managed to register himself up to fifth in passing yards with a tally of 901. However, the downside has been that Flacco has led the team to only five TouchDowns in a total of 3 games.
Zach Wilson has always emphasized how he has learned from the 15-year-veteran QB, and focuses upon what changes he can make in his game. Only to get the best results possible for his own side. That being said, he returns to an offensive unit which has struggled to protect the passer (allowed nine sacks in 3 games).
With Pittsburgh Steelers being known to put extra pressure package on the passer, will Zach Wilson make his arrival known to the world? Remains to be seen as the footballing festivity continues.
