It is safe to say that Tom Brady had a pathetic outing against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17. Not only was he bad with his two interceptions, his tally of 34-for-55 with 253 passing yards and a TouchDown pass to Russell Gage never made his presence felt in the game.
While the entire limelight was stolen by Brock Purdy, as he became the first ever Quarterback to win against Tom Brady in his first career start, the #1 Quarterback of Tampa Bay had fewer that 80 passing yards in the entirety of the first half. It wasn’t just Brady, but the entire team combined had 322 total yards compared to the 49ers’ 404 total yards. Brady’s interception to start the second half led to a Christian McCaffrey 35-yard rushing TouchDown, putting the game well out of Bucs’ reach.
What’s even worse? After the game Dre Greenlaw, who had witnessed the former QB in action since he was kids came to him to get his intercepted ball signed. He told Brady, “You’re the greatest ever bro. I’ve been watching you since I was 2 years old, man.”
Greenlaw is undoubtedly having the best year of his career, He entered the game in Week 14 with 88 total tackles and two fumble recoveries in the current regular season. His tackles total on Sunday meant he would surpass 100 tackles on the season for the first time.
“It was shit for me, to be honest,” Brady said after signing the intercepted ball from Dre Greenlaw as per Yahoo Sports. “It was complete shit. But I try to be a gentleman. No, actually, I mean, look, it was a great play he made. I’m happy he’s got the ball. I wish I didn’t throw it but I’m trying to be a good sport. Because a lot of times.
“I’m not a good sport. I can be a pretty bad sport. In the moment when they get me in the right frame of mind, I’m actually a good sport.”
