The 2022-23 regular season has reached its midway and it is safe to say that there are no frontrunners for the MVP accolade yet. While many deem Jalen Hurts to lead the charts, alongside Josh Allen, the likes of Tyreek Hill are not far away.
Given that Tyreek Hill has had a dominant start of his Miami Dolphins-stint, in just the initial eight weeks – Hill has already led the league in multiple stats. To top it all. the six-time Pro Bowler is also on pace to tally 2,042 receiving yards this year, which would shatter the record for the most such yards in a single season in NFL history.
Fans would be aware that no wide receiver has ever won the NFL MVP accolade, but plenty have come close or were in contention previously. Special mention going out to Pro Football Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice, who finished in the top three of the final voting for the award four times in his career.
“I think that it’s possible,” Tyreek Hill said during a press conference on Wednesday, as per Clutchpoints. “For me to be in such conversations like that is just a blessing within itself. I just want to say thank God for my people, my peers and people just acknowledging me to even be in that conversation.
After a dominant week, can the Miami Dolphins register a three-game losing streak? Will be an interesting story to keep an eye on, especially in the form Tyreek Hill is in.
“I came from a small town, didn’t grow up with a lot. I grew up in a crazy situation. Just to be playing in the NFL every day, for me, I’ve already accomplished my dream. For me to be in the MVP conversation, that’s legacy right there for me.”
