Zach Wilson has not been a regular feature for the New York Jets in the 2022-23 regular season. However, they entered Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots with a 5-2 tally and got a really harsh reality check. In a 22-17 loss, Wilson tossed three interceptions, giving Dan Orlovsky the right to fire a verbal attack on him.
On the latest episode of ESPN’s Get Up, Dan Orlovsky called out the #1 Quarterback of New York Jets for not maturing enough to handle the situation of the game. The NFL Analyst emphasized on how Zach Wilson needs to realize where his team is standing in the AFC East division and needs to quickly pull up his socks.
He said, “If I was in Zach Wilson’s quarterback room right now, this is what I would say to him. It’s time to grow the fudge up, dude. Time to grow up, dude. You’re not in the Mountain West anymore.”
The New York Jets have worked hard without Zach Wilson in majority of the 2022-23 season. Given that this team is making a worthy effort to contest in the playoffs, perhaps Orlovsky did raise a valid point.
Dan added, “There’s a difference between carelessness and aggression. There’s a difference between confidence and ego. Right now, you play with such ego, such carelessness, such recklessness with the football. And there’s moments in that game you sit there and go, that’s what it looks like.
“There’s that second-round talent. But these decisions are unbelievably reckless. You don’t have to do this anymore, Zach Wilson. You are a talented enough player and there are 70 snaps, a game. This means you have to grow up.”
