Jalen Hurts has forced everyone in and around the NFL world to change their perception about him. Having led the Philadelphia Eagles 12-1 at the young age of 24, nobody saw this upwards trajectory for Jalen coming this soon, especially not Dan Orlovsky.
Having to contest in Week 14 against an unpredictable team like New York Giants, Jalen Hurts showcased just what his abilities are. Moreover, he pushed the Giants further behind in each of his successive plays, until the Eagles won by via a blowout.
Dan Orlovsky said on the latest episode of Get Up, “Jalen Hurts is the most improved passer I’ve ever seen in my life. … I’ve never seen a guy transform this way. This kid has the running ability which is very rare and, in many ways, and this sounds outrageous, he’s become like Drew Brees in the pocket. He’s become a pin-point thrower from the pocket and this unlike anything that I’ve seen.”
For those who live in a parallel universe and are not aware of Hurts’ magic – the Philadelphia Eagles are lost just one of their thirteen showdown, winning the rest 12 of them. In the process Jalen Hurts has completed 68.0-percent of his passes for 3,157 yards, 22 TouchDowns, and just three interceptions. Not to mention, another 686 yards and 10 TouchDowns on the ground.
The 24-year-old Quarterback is now the NFL’s frontrunner to win the Most Valuable Player award at -140, slightly ahead of Patrick Mahomes.
After performing so well in the regular season, can Hurts continue the same form in the playoffs? Remains to be an interesting story to witness unfold.
