Has Dallas Cowboys marquee Dak Prescott got Super Bowl potential? Absolutely, yes! Has he been able to achieve rampant success with his team over the course of his six seasons as a starter? Unfortunately, no!
As Ringers named Dak Prescott as the seventh best quarterback in NFL, former league star turned analyst, Shannon Sharpe was in no mood to allow such a ‘disrespect’ to the other players named after the 29-year-old Cowboys marquee. Not only that, but he also argued Skip Bayless to an extent where he revealed his desire to opt for Viking’s Kirk Cousins that Prescott, if given a chance.
Shannon Sharpe said on the latest episode of Undisputed, “Here are the Quarterbacks that are placed immediately after Dak Prescott – Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Kyle Murray, Matthew Stafford, I’ll take every last one of them ahead of him (Prescott). I’m not saying one of them, but all of them. I’m not sure if Dak is the 7th-best QB in the NFC, let alone the entire league! Stop This!”
He added, “Common man, I get it…Dak is an unbelievable store but this is bull-jive. There ain’t no way in hell this could be true and you know it Skip. You (to Skip Bayless) can’t justify him being the 7th best Quarterback.
While Sharpe seems to have stretched the lines, Dak Prescott has not given much to his fan base, especially when it comes to the latter end of the season, Having being haunted by the injury demons time and again, he has only experienced one playoff victory in his six seasons as a starter.
“I’m baffled that people think Dak Prescott is the 7th best Quarterback in all of football. That too not just in the NFC, but all 32 teams. Ain’t no way he (Dak Prescott) is better than Joe Burrow, Kyle Murray and Lamar Jackson. If truth to be told, he ain’t better…I’ll take Kirk Cousins over Dak Prescott.”
Fans would be aware that Prescott had a flying start in the 2019 season with 3-0 in the initial games, but eventual dropped some easy games to finish 8-8 in the season. Then came last season, where Dallas went 6-4 down the stretch, leading to a 12-5 record. However, making it to the business end, they once again suffered a clutch/heart-breaking defeat to the Niners. Will this the ‘golden year’ year Mr. Dak, one where he could silence Sharpe right in the face?
