Famous Sports Analyst Colin Cowherd firmly believes that replacing Jimmy Garoppolo won’t be easy for the 49ers.
After much speculation regarding the San Francisco 49ers‘ starting quarterback for the next season, head coach Kyle Shanahan has officially announced that Trey Lance will take the reins.
The Jimmy Garoppolo era in San Francisco will come to an end; he enjoyed his time there, but Lance should now take over. Drafted last season, Lance is also pretty confident to take over the duties of starting quarterback of the 49ers.
However, famous Sports Analyst, Colin Cowherd doesn’t think that replacing Jimmy G will be easy for the 49ers. He thinks Jimmy Garoppolo is very underrated, and Trey isn’t completely ready yet.
Colin Cowherd said, “I think a lot of you think replacing Jimmy Garoppolo is not that hard. From week 10 on last year second in the NFL and completion percentage 71 percent second in yards per attempt fourth and passer rating that’s the Jimmy Garoppolo, he’s replacing.
He added, “Nobody cares about week four that’s why the niner coaches are nervous Jimmy’s a gamer and an alpha and he’s confident that’s who you’re replacing nobody gives a rip about the injuries and nobody cares about Aaron Rodgers October Aaron Rodgers season was embarrassing at the end again Trey Lance is not there yet…”
Trey Lance learned a lot from Jimmy Garoppolo last season
In his rookie season, Trey Lance backed up Jimmy G. Jimmy enjoyed his time with the San Francisco 49ers, leading them to a Super Bowl appearance. Last year, he also came very near to beating the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
Talking about Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey said, “It is what is. It’s nothing weird at all. I never had anything I could possibly say that’s bad about Jimmy. He’s been a big bro to me since the day I came in. He could have made things hell for me.”
