Jon Gruden resigns after recent racist email fallout
Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden has officially resigned from his position. This comes after the recent fallout he received for his racially sensitive comments made 10 years ago. The official Twitter handle of the Raiders team also posted Gruden’s resignation message which read:
“I have resigned as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans of Raider Nation. I’m sorry, I never meant to hurt anyone.” Jon Gruden

What did Jon Gruden do?
It was reported that Gruden hade made racially sensitive comments on DeMaurice Smith 10 years ago. He sent out an email to Washington Football Team’s president and said “lips the size of michellin tires” referring to Smith.
NFL later responded and claimed that it will look into the matter and charges for Gruden could’ve also been expected. Further reports on the investigation are yet to be revealed. However, as mentioned earlier Gruden has decided to step down as the Head Coach and will no longer continue with the team.
