The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl
The Kansas City Chiefs were among the favorites to win the Super Bowl while heading into this season because of all the superstars who were on their roster and also the talent that the young players had who are major contributors for an NFL team.
Patrick Mahomes who many consider being the closest player to ever challenge the legacy of Tom Brady is the leader of this Chiefs team and has guided them to constant success ever since he became a regular starter.
The Chiefs had a terrible start to the season with people doubting whether the Mahomes magic is gone and the Chiefs Dynasty is coming to an early end but the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back. The team came back stronger from their poor start and went on a good run.
The Chiefs went to the playoffs and defeated the Steelers and the Buffalo Bills. They then went to play their 4th straight AFC Championship Game in which they faced the Cincinnati Bengals. The match witnessed an infamous meltdown happen in the 2nd half of the game which led them to lose the game and crushed their dream of making the Super Bowl for 3rd straight year.
Biggest reason for the downfall of the Kansas City Chiefs this season
The Kansas City Chiefs were well on their way to their 3rd straight Super Bowl by destroying the Bengals in the 1st half of the AFC Championship game but in the 2nd half, they were flamed out. Mahomes was not able to make a single good play and their defense was unable to stop the high-flying Joe Burrow.
The defense of the Chiefs had been under fire throughout the year and again in the AFC Championship Game, they were unable to stop Joe Burrow. Their failure to stop Burrow brought extra pressure to the offense of the team. Mahomes admitted that he played badly in the 2nd half of the game.
How can the Chiefs come up with a solution to this problem?
The biggest concern for the Chiefs heading into next season will be to find the solution to bring back Tyrann Mathieu who plays at the Safety for the Chiefs. If the Chiefs can get him back then their problems will be much less as he is the leader of the team on the defensive end.
Apart from Mathieu, the Chiefs need to sign some good players on their defense and sign another good wide receiver who can complement Tyreek Hill. If these moves are made their chances of winning the Super Bowl become easier.
Expectations from the Chiefs for next season!
The goal is clear at Kansas City, that is to win the Super Bowl and anything less than that will be seen as a failure for this highly talented team.
