Tom Brady is going to lock horns against a team which he could’ve represented during his time in 2020. During the mentioned year when Brady was finding a new home for himself, Kyle Shanahan, 49ers were inches away from securing the legendary Quarterback. Moreover, it was rumored that the 45-year-old had interests in playing for the Niners.
Now as the 7xSuper Bowl Champ, who has just led his team to an inspirational comeback victory against Saints, will be against the Niners – Kyle Shanahan was asked if he was surprised by Tom Brady’s level of play since the 2019 season, when he was believed to be in decline.
Safe to say, just like it sounds – the San Francisco 49ers’ Head Coach revealed the feeling of regret over passing on Tom Brady, who simply could’ve changed the picture of the franchise.
The Niners Head Coach emphasised that people are now wondering when Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Tom Brady’s age will become too high for him to sustain this level of play. Eventually went onto praise the legendary Quarterback for his prowess.
“I’d like to say of course not, but I think everyone’s since then, you’re wondering when is the number too high?” Shanahan told reporters, as per Pro Football Talk.
“But now like when you watch him that first week in Tampa, you’re like, what the hell was anyone ever thinking? The dude looks the exact same, he did that year [in 2020]. He does when he comes off injuries and I think he’s playing as good now and throwing the ball as well now as I’ve seen anybody ever do it.”
