Kyler Murray who is the quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals had been in the news since the season ended. He was rumored to be unsettled as he removed all the team-related posts from his Instagram account.
News began brewing around the league that the quarterback might not remain with the Arizona Cardinals for the long term. Everyone associated with the Cardinals was concerned with Kyler’s situation as everyone knows he is a great quarterback and they want him to lead their team for the future.
However, the Arizona Cardinals owner. Michael Bidwill spoke up in an interview with Dan Bickley and Vince Marotta, and talked about Kyler Murray and gave everyone reassurance that he will remain with the team for the long haul as he said, “The window has just opened for a contract extension, Certainly he’s part of our long-term plan.”
Michael Bidwill further spoke about Kyler and said, “These contracts, especially the quarterback contracts, are very complicated. Most of the big ones are down further down the road, I think Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen were done in the summertime. Others were done in the summertime. So we’ve got time but they’re complicated.”
He added, “Most of the big ones are down further down the road, I think Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen were done in the summertime. Others were done in the summertime. So we’ve got time but they’re complicated. We also have other priorities. Free agency starts here in just a couple of weeks as well as we’ve got to get some guys re-signed. The salary cap is all one big pie and you are making room for a new piece of the pie that is going to replace the rookie contract.”
He further said, “Again, the structure of it, the timing of it, it’s a complicated process and it takes some time. In the meantime, we’ve got to get some key free agents re-signed. There are going to be some other free agents out there that you’ll need to ask Steve about the specifics around what he plans to do, but I know we are going to be aggressive and I know Kyler is a part of our long-term plan.”
Michael Bidwill said, “I spoke to him last night. We’ve had good conversations non-stop,“, which gives everyone a reassurance that Kyler Murray will be committed to the Arizona Cardinals for the foreseeable future and everything is fine in Arizona as of now.
