Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers lost their fifth consecutive game after Detroit Lions bamboozled them on Sunday. The case of different – rather than the latter team playing better, it was the #1 QB who failed to lead him team and handed the advantage to the opposition.
Now, as one might recall, Aaron Rodgers was speculated to hang up his boots after he won his 2nd consecutive MVP accolade. Yet the veteran returned against all odds. Is he regretting the decision? Surely not. Are the fans regretting that decision? Well, one is – loud and clear, Lil Wayne.
He wrote in his tweet after the Packers dropped their fifth game, a scenario taking place for the first time since 2008, which was Aaron Rodgers first season as a full-time starter, “RIP to the season we should’ve gotten rid of 12 before the season.”
Now to bring everyone on the same page, Aaron Rodgers had one of the worst games of his career. The 37-year-old Quarterback threw three interceptions for only the fifth time since he entered theNFL. Perhaps now you know just why Lil Wayne has been throwing shades out in the open. Two of those turnovers occurred in the red zone (one just outside the red zone), where Rodgers has historically been dominant in his career.
Moreover, Rodgers’ 53.5 passer rating was his lowest mark in a game since last season’s Week 1 meltdown against the New Orleans Saints.
That being said, Aaron Rodgers’ team is now 3-6 in the season and are almost on the verge of being bulldozed out of the playoffs. Is the end of one of the most celebrated NFL stars? Or is there one last comeback written in his destiny? Remains to be seen.
