Brett Favre, Marcus DuPree and more might face legal charges for misuse of funds
Multiple reports reveal that millions of dollars sent as welfare funds have been spent illegally by the likes of Brett Favre, Marcus DuPree, The DiBiase family and also a few more. They misused the funds from the Mississippi state’s “temporary assistance for needy families” funds.
The most notable out of these happens to be Brett Favre. Favre is a Hall of Famer and legendary NFL quarterback. He received $1.1 million from two non-profits and spent most of it for other purposes. The funds were intended to help the needy but never actually reached them.
Favre has to repay $828,000 in 30 days to the State of Mississippi and if he fails to do so he will face legal charges.
Who are the other names involved with this controversy?
A few other recognizable names have emerged out in this case including Marcus DuPree and members of the DiBiase family. Take a look at the amount these people owe:
- Ted DiBiase Sr. who controls the Heart of David Ministries owes $722,299
- Brett DiBiase, son of Ted Sr. owes $225,000
- Ted DiBiase Jr. owes $3.9 million
- Marcus DuPree foundation ran and owned by the NFL player Marcus DuPree himself owes $789,534
All the names listed above have been demanded to repay the amount within the next 30 days to the state of Mississippi If any of them fail to do so the Attorneys will be liable to enforce the demands in court and they will be legally charged.
Further revelations suggests that they might even undergo criminal investigations for their misspent funds. However, further details on the same have not been made available.
