If Dak Prescott’s absence was expected to haunt Dallas Cowboys and their aspirations of winning the NFC East, then it is safe to say that Micah Parsons seems to be doing everything he can, to not misery fall upon his team.

But keeping aside his defensive heroics, Micha Parsons is already being compared to some the greatest defenders to ever play in the league. On the same note former Patriots and Cowboys’ player could not stop gushing over Parsons’ prowess after Sunday’s win against the Cincinnati BengalS. So, who was it? Super Bowl XLVI winner – Chris Canty.

Former Cowboy’s defensive lineman quoted, “If the Cowboys wants to win the NFC East, it has to be because of their defense, and it has to be because of Micah Parsons. He is the best defensive player in all of football….this dude is the second-coming of Lawrence Taylor.”

Can Micah Parsons hold Dallas Cowboys in NFC East contention?

With the latest two sacks on Sunday against the Bengals, Micah Parsons has a total tally of 17 sacks- to think about it, he’s 125 short of Lawrence Taylor 0 arguably the best defender to ever play in the NFL. Moreover, Micah’s teammates have often pointed out how he can beat a blocker in many ways, be it speed, athleticism, strength, agility or hand usage.

To justify the same point – Micah Parsons played almost all of his snaps as an edge rusher against Bengals’ marquee – Joe Burrow and the rest of the team. Out of his 58 defensive snaps, 55 were on the defensive line and the other three were at linebacker.

While many have already deemed Micah parsons as a linebacker, the Cowboys are trying to use him in as many versatile roles as possible. That being said, will Parsons be able to hold onto the defensive end for the team while their offense tries to re-unite with Dak Prescott? Remains to be seen.
