Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a just handful of days away from their season opening clash NFC rival – Dallas Cowboys. On one hand, both teams have huge expectations to fulfil with Dak Prescott and Tom Brady leading the respective troops, it seems like Michael Irvin and Stephen A. Smith have made their choice of a winner for this showdown.
In the latest episode of Monday Morning, ESPN’s First Take, Cowboys legend Michael detailed how he feels his former team have a clear upper hand over Brady and his Buccaneers. To much surprise, Smith not only laughed off his companion’s opinion but detailed just why Brady’s army are going to crush Jerry Jones’ men.
Smith stated, “My answer is very very predictable. There is no way in hell I have more confidence in Cowboys than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There’s one thing I think about Tom Brady, I think about Leonard Fournette, I think about Mike Evans, I think about the return of Chris Godwin. I think about Cameron Brate, who I think people are estimating just because Rob Gronkowski retired. I’m thinking about Julio Jones.”
Smith added, “I think he still has a lot left. He was contaminated by playing with Ryan Tannehill, who ain’t going in the football this time. It is going to be Tom Brady.”
Not only has Dallas Cowboys had a poor start in the preseason, but they had even failed to live up to their expectations last season. Having won NFC East, courtesy to a 12-5 record, they were upset by the 49ers (23-17) in the first round itself.
“Okay. Somebody that he’s familiar with because he watched Tom Brady come back from a 25-point deficit and beat him in the Super Bowl about six years ago. So, I’m of this mindset right here when we talk about Cowboys and here’s the thing that is funny to me. We just going to ignore some of the losses, like it’s just not a big deal. We go listen now listen.”
Having to avenge their painful exit from the business end already, will we witness Dak Prescott being able to lead his troop since the inaugural week? Or will it be Tom Brady elaborating upon his legendary? All speculations are to be answered on Sunday.
