Can Myles Garrett challenge T.J.Watt for the Defensive Player of the Year accolade? Colin Cowherd has nothing but the ultimate trust on the former Cleveland Brown star as he gears up for the 2022-23 season.
T.J.Watt had an interesting storyline in the 2021 season as he went onto endure hip, knee and groin injuries, causing him to miss four games. Yet he somehow recorded 22.5 sacks in the same season, tying Michael Strahan for the most ever in a single season. But if you were to believe Cowherd, the story is about to change its gear and move onto Browns’ Myles Garrett.
The former Number 1 draft pick from the 2017 class, Myles Garrett has shown immense signs of upwards trajectory over this course of years of his NFL stint. But the newest model of Garrett has been kept under wrap to most people outside of Berea throughout the preseason, except for those who showed up at the training camp.
Colin Cowherd heaps praise onto Browns star Myles Garrett
Browns defensive end, Myles Garrett has not won the NFL defensive Player of the Year despite some strong and worthy performances over several seasons. On one hand, where he has immense talent, Garrett has majorly suffered via injuries late in the season. He played through a groin injury in 2021, while he missed six games in 2019 courtesy to a suspension.
With numerous drawbacks like such – Garrett has been consistently amongst the best DPOY nominees’ season-after-season. On the same basis, veteran sports media analyst – Colin Cowherd has nothing but appreciation for the 26-year-old defensive end.
Cowherd said, “So, Myles Garrett – and I have said this before – Myles Garrett by the end of the season will be regarded as the Defensive Player in the league. I think he’s an unbelievable talent and he just keeps on getting better and better and better. Aaron Donald has been that for the previous 8-9-10 years. I think he (Myles Garrett) will take that over this year.”
